This is the robe made from the gossamer I blogged about here, it's the largest garment ever made entirely from spider silk
I think the most astonishing thing is that spider silk can't be felt by the human hand and the author of this article didn't know, when her eyes were closed, whether the robe lay across her hands or not. It must feel incredibly weird to wear the gown.
It's going on show at the V&A on Wednesday and I shall pop in to look, apparently the colour is incredible.
